The Bhagavad-Gita is part of the great Indian Epic Mahabharata. It is an ancient poem that teaches us about Karma Yoga (the yoga of action), Bhakti yoga (the yoga of devotion) and Jnana Yoga (the yoga of Wisdom). It also teaches us about seeing through the ego and approaching life with equanimity or non-attachment. The Bhagavad-Gita teaches us that in everything we do in life we need to do it with absolute devotion to God and non-attachment to the rewards.

This is a unique 18 session class in which the theme of each chapter of the Gita will be gently woven into a Yoga class and Meditation.

This class will involve participation and discussion.

Level 2 Students will have some small assignments to complete. Level 1 Students receive 18 continuing studies hours and Level 2 students 20 continuing studies hours for Yoga Teachers. Level 1 is a prerequisite for Level 2.

Mahatma Ghandi:

“I find solace in the Bhagavad-Gita that I miss in the Sermon on the mount. When disappointment stares me in the face and all alone I see not one ray of light, I go back to the Bhagavad-Gita. I find a verse here and a verse there and I immediately begin to smile in the midst of overwhelming tragedies—and my life has been full of external tragedies—and if they have left no visible, no indelible scar on me, I owe it all to the teachings of the Bhagavad-Gita.”
